Swedish Massage This is the type of massage most people are familiar with. Swedish massage involves effleurage (long gliding strokes), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (percussion) and friction. Swedish Massage can range from light to vigorous.     Deep Tissue Deep Tissue massage is used to penetrate the deeper layers of musculature. In order to get to these deeper layers the therapist may use a variety of techniques. Swedish strokes are sometimes used to warm the superficial layers of tissue. Once the tissues are warmed, the therapist can use long slow gliding strokes, sustained compression, strokes that travel across the muscle fiber or perpendicular to the muscle fibers. This may include myofascial techniques or cross fiber friction.   Sports Massage Sports Massage is a form of massage that can be done before, during or after exercise and athletic events. This type of massage can involve a variety of strokes and depth of pressure. The main purpose of this type of massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance, reduce fatigue, decrease swelling, decrease tension and increase flexibility. It can be a bit more detailed than a regular Swedish massage.   Passive Stretching There may be times when the client may need to have certain muscles stretched. The therapist will take the client through the Range of Motion (ROM) of the particular joint or just stretch the specific muscle. Couples Massage Couples massages can be provided one of two ways; We can provide both massages for 45 minutes each for $140 total.  If you prefer 2 back-to-back 60 minute massages, We charge $160 total.   Group/Party Massage Having a get together?  Perhaps you'd like your guests to take a load off!  Pamper your friends and family by providing each of them with a 15 minute to 30 minute massage.  We will set up my equipment in the designated room and perform massages until the conclusion of the event.  Minimum of two hours required.   Chair Massage Chair Massage is just a massage given usually in a chair made specifically for massage. It is extremely convenient for both therapist and client. The client can be massaged on the spot fully clothed. Often the therapist will take their chair to events, offices or use it for the individual unable to utilize the massage table. Techniques Used Chair massage utilizes acupressure and Swedish massage to relieve tension. Though beginning at a slower pace, the work moves a little faster as the practitioner proceeds. The session ends with quick, revitalizing strokes in order to bring the client back to a state of full consciousness. Safety The practitioner will demonstrate the procedure for getting on and off the massage chair for those not familiar with its use. Positioning is very important and the practitioner should check regularly throughout the session to be sure the client's alignment remains correct.
